At SMFR, our intention in History is to convey a greater understanding and knowledge of British and World History through an inspiring curriculum. We aim to stimulate children’s inquisitiveness and fascination as they develop and embed a sense of time, understanding of how events and periods of time interconnect and explore a diverse range of history topics.  

Our History curriculum is progressive throughout the whole school and covers the knowledge and skills stated in the EYFS and National Curriculum. The Historical skills and knowledge acquired will help children ask questions, use resources, have an understanding of people, events and contexts from a range of periods and conclude findings.  SMFR aims for our children to  recognise an ever-changing world and their place in it.
